With our upcoming walking programs starting off next week with the Howsshecuttin and Walking Through The Years, here is a timely reminder of how to beat the winter blues and get up and out and join the Siul Eile fun.
1. FEEL CONNECTED TO YOUR COMMUNITY
In an era where we barely know our neighbours names, be part of a growing movement where people reconnect with each other and their community.
2. THEY ARE LOCAL
Each group stay within their own community for the majority of their walks, so if there is a Siul Eile in your area, you are only a few minutes from the meeting point.
Grab your coat and before you know it, you are strolling and chatting around your community.
3. STEPPING STONES
If you have a long term goal for a longer event such as the Camino or hiking a mountain, Siul Eile is the perfect way to start out.
There is always a sweeper walker, so there will always be someone behind you!
4. ENERGISE YOUR COMMUNITY
By participating in a Siul Eile walk, you are not only helping yourself but also helping to energise your community through the motivation of a group mentality.
This greater energy makes your community a better place to live.
5. BEAT THE WINTER BLUES
With the evenings drawing in, don’t sit in watching Coronation Street! Instead get the hi viz and torch, feel the crisp air, catch up with your neighbours and return an hour later fully refreshed!
6. WALK AT YOUR OWN PACE
All Siul Eile walks accommodate everyone.
Everyone goes at their own pace and we have little stops built in to gather everyone in for a few minutes, mingle and then off we go again with the same or a different walking partner.
