The Devil’s Bit is 478m above sea level. The mountain is full of history and legend. According to local legend the mountain got its name when the devil took a bite out of it and spat the Rock of Cashel from his mouth to where it now stands.
On reaching the top admire the amazing views in all directions on display that really shows Tipperary in all its glory with the variety of fields down below. Mountains galore are also on view, in the distance you can make out the Wicklow Mountains, more visible are the Blackstair Mountains and really clear are Slievenamon, Comeraghs, Knockmealdowns, Galtees and Keeper Hill and to the north are the serene waters of Lough Derg.
