The Thursday Trek ‘N’ Treat series will bring you to remote locations with stunning views, hidden gems, showcasing well off the beaten tracks in our communities and all topped off with a homebaked treat to savour while you immerse yourself in scenic surroundings!! The treks are aimed at those who want to soak up the quite energy of the great outdoors at a gentle pace.
Kilballyboy Woods is set amongst 3 of the National Waymarked Trails surrounding Clogheen. The trek follows the East Munster Way before connecting up with the Tipperary Heritage Way that will bring you under the renowned beauty spot The Vee. An old path that leads up to the iconic hairpin bend of The Vee opening up the peaceful beauty of the Galty Vee Valley. A short steep spur up to Grubbs Monument will give even greater views. A short scenic road walk will lead to a trail to pick up the third National Waymarked Trail of this loop, the Blackwater Way. A little pit stop to soak up the solitude of Bay Lough before the descent back through the woods to the start point.
