Wicklow Way 2024: Stage 2

Out of stock

The Wicklow Way trek from Crone Woods to Lough Dan is a beautiful and invigorating section of this fabulous trail.

The adventure begins at Crone Woods, a scenic area with towering trees and a tranquil atmosphere. The trail immediately throws you into a steady climb through the woods, offering glimpses of the scenery below. One of the highlights of this section is reaching a viewing point overlooking the majestic Powerscourt Waterfall, Ireland’s highest waterfall. Leaving the waterfall behind, the trail continues its ascent through open terrain, with stunning panoramic views. The landscape then changes as you reach Djouce Mountain, where you’ll encounter some moderate climbs. The views from the top are definitely worth the effort! Descending the panoramic views continue with terriffic views of Lough Tay overseen by a large moulder dedicated to J.B. Malone who devised the Wicklow Way trail. Lough Dan then comes into view on the home stretch.

The Crone Woods to Lough Dan section of the Wicklow Way is a fantastic choice for those seeking a scenic and challenging day hike. With its beautiful woodlands, cascading waterfalls, lakes and panoramic mountain views, this portion of the Wicklow Way offers a rewarding experience for hikers.
