As we enter Phase 1 of the easing of restrictions on May 18th, groups of 4 or less can meet up outdoors with that in mind we will be introducing the Siul Eile Pods for Phase 1.

These are the guidelines to keep in mind while walking during  Phase 1:

Maintain physical distancing of at least 2 metres at all times.

Max of four people allowed on walk.

1 Walk leader required per group, walk leader needs to be certain of the route (most people know at least 1 or 2 walks in their locality, the more that volunteer to lead a walk the greater number of walks can be provided)

Walks for this phase to stay on roads and lowland trails, avoid open mountains as per Mountain Rescue request.

Do not exchange or share walking equipment, food or drink during the walk

Do not block forest barriers with vehicles, in case of an emergency.

Wash hands on returning home

Travel by vehicle to walk meeting point alone or only with a member of the same household

Live within the  5km radius of the meeting point.

If you are ill or have any symptoms, stay at home.

One group that is not restricted to numbers at the moment is our free Siul Eile Strava group which we set up a couple of weeks ago. We are seeing loads of activity on it, where we have different challenges to keep you motivated, shortly we will have training programs for you to follow, while you link in with the group to keep you on track.  See the link from our last blog to join for loads of routes, motivation and challenges to keep you fit and healthy with plenty more innovative walking adventures on the way. We would encourage as many as possible to join the Strava group, to connect with others and showcase the beauty on our doorsteps
